Description

MURU MOVEMENT SHEET SET IN BLUE

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Aaron McFarlane is a First Nations artist from Western Sydney, working on Dharug Country. He is a proud Muruwari man from north-west New South Wales, whose creative practice is deeply grounded in culture, community, and connection to Country. A devoted father of three, Aaron places family at the centre of everything he does. Alongside his artistic practice, he has served as a full-time firefighter for over a decade and works as an Aboriginal mentor within the juvenile justice system in Western Sydney. These roles allow him to give back to his community while guiding and supporting young Aboriginal boys through challenging periods of their lives. Aaron has been painting for most of his life, working primarily with acrylic and oil-based mediums across canvas, murals, and applied formats. His art is driven by purpose and responsibility, reflecting his belief that “my culture, my people, the younger generation are what drives and inspires me to keep doing what I’m doing.” Through his work, Aaron creates meaningful visual stories that honour culture, strengthen community, and contribute to a lasting legacy for future generations.
